26,200 registered bed nights

In January 2021, 26,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (-61.7 %), of which 23,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 71 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 62 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (600 nights).

8,700 rooms (-52.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,000 rooms (-77.0 %) by business visitors.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-42.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.0 million nights (-33.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 195,000 nights (-75.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay increased 23 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in January was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 3.4 nights (+45.2 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.2 nights and foreigners 2.0 nights .

12,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 69 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.0 percent were domestic, and 9.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.2 nights (+0.41) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.31).
