Paid bed nights

33,900 registered bed nights

In March 2021, 33,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (-5.1 %), of which 31,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 28 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (570 nights).

11,000 rooms (+17.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,700 rooms (-42.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 85,200 registered bed nights (-40.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,900 (-61.4 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 92,100 (-42.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay increased 17 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.1 nights (+23.0 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+22.8 %).

16,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.1 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.21).
