Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In July 2021, 195,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+27.2 %), of which 185,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's July.

30,100 rooms (+47.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,600 rooms (+97.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 453,000 registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,300 (+8.5 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 481,000 (+2.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.6 percent

Total of 12.2 million registered bed nights (+30.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 10.7 million nights (+21.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.5 million nights (+174.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in July was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-0.9 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.3 nights (+5.4 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+16.5 %).

86,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.8 percent were domestic, and 5.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.3 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.16).
