Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 44 percent

In February 2022, 46,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+44.1 %), of which 41,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 39 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 113 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 44 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (720 nights).

13,400 rooms (+28.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,300 rooms (+100.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 78,600 registered bed nights (+46.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,500 (+112.1 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 88,100 (+51.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.6 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+10.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (-3.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 571,000 nights (+159.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in February was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-34.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.9 nights (-5.1 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-17.1 %).

25,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 57 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.5 percent were domestic, and 10.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.9 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.52).
