Paid bed nights

65,300 registered bed nights

In June 2019, 65,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala (-2.0 %), of which 49,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 15,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased four percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's June.

18,800 rooms (+1.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 16,300 rooms (+14.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 256,000 registered bed nights (-1.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 56,500 (+3.2 %) for foreigners in Uppsala, in total 313,000 (-0.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 1.8 nights (-1.5 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.8 %).

35,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.7 percent were domestic, and 22.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 1.8 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.1).
