Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 73 percent

In January 2022, 32,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala (+72.6 %), of which 28,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 69 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 104 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 73 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,100 nights).

12,500 rooms (+63.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,800 rooms (+75.5 %) by business visitors.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (-4.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 399,000 nights (+105.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (+0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala, length of stay in January was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-36.1 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 2.0 nights and foreigners 1.7 nights .

16,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.2 percent were domestic, and 14.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 2.0 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.37).
