Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 76 percent

In June 2022, 67,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala (+76.3 %), of which 53,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 370 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 76 percent from last year's June.

21,000 rooms (+89.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,200 rooms (+91.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 263,000 registered bed nights (+83.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 50,700 (+315.2 %) for foreigners in Uppsala, in total 314,000 (+101.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 6.9 million registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.2 million nights (+17.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+259.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-13.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 1.9 nights (-9.1 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+6.3 %).

35,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 78 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.2 percent were domestic, and 19.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala on average 1.9 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.23).
