742,000 registered bed nights (July)

In July 2023, 742,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (-2.4 %), of which 470,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 273,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's July.

534,000 nights (-0.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 209,000 nights (-7.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 2.3 million registered bed nights (+7.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.3 million (+30.2 %) for foreigners in Uusimaa, in total 3.6 million (+14.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 23.1 percent (July)

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (-2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (-3.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 592,000 nights (+4.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uusimaa out of total registered bed nights was 23.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 17.9 % and foreign bed nights 46.0 %.

416,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (July)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 67.8 percent were domestic, and 32.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.7 nights (+0.0) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.12).

892,000 air travelers (Helsinki)

The airport received a total of 892,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased eight percent. 213,000 travelers were transferring planes (+14.1 %) and 679,000 were local passengers (+6.6 %).

Of local passengers, 92.4 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 7.6 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 89.1 %.

In addition, there were 464,000 passengers departing the airport (+4.0 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 1.4 million (+6.8 %).

721,000 passengers by ferries (July, Helsinki)

There were 721,000 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased six percent. The number of departing passengers was 695,000 (+3.9 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (531,000 arrivals).
