531,000 bed nights in paid accommodation (April)
Total of 531,000 bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Uusimaa in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 80 % and non-registered 20 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 2.0 million (+32.4 %). Share of registered was 82 % and non-registered 18 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
427,000 registered bed nights (April)
In April 2023, 427,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (-0.6 %), of which 280,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 146,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (13,300 nights).
219,000 nights (-0.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 207,000 nights (-0.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 1.1 million registered bed nights (+24.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 598,000 (+57.2 %) for foreigners in Uusimaa, in total 1.7 million (+34.2 %) registered nights.

257,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (April)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 70.0 percent were domestic, and 30.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.6 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.18).

797,000 air travelers (April, Helsinki)
The airport received a total of 797,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 32 percent. 189,000 travelers were transferring planes (+51.6 %) and 608,000 were local passengers (+26.4 %).
Of local passengers, 88.7 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 11.3 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 84.6 %.
In addition, there were 416,000 passengers departing the airport (+16.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 1.2 million (+26.1 %).

269,000 passengers by ferries (March, Helsinki)
There were 269,000 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased 27 percent. The number of departing passengers was 280,000 (+34.6 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (213,000 arrivals).

Accommodation sales 34.3 million euro (April)
Total accommodation sales in April were 34.3 million euro (+2.7 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 11.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 30.6 million euro (+2.2 million) and non-registered sales 3.8 million euro (+516,000).
Total January-April sales were 137.2 million euro and they increased 46.2 million euro from the previous year.
