136,000 registered bed nights (January)
In January 2021, 136,000 bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (-72.3 %), of which 112,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 59 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 89 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 72 percent from last year's January.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (5,600 nights).
66,300 nights (-72.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 69,800 nights (-72.6 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

70,200 tourists arrived to accommodation (January)
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 85.2 percent were domestic, and 14.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.9 nights (+0.34) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.48).
67,000 air travelers (January, Helsinki)
The airport received a total of 67,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 92 percent. 11,900 travelers were transferring planes (-96.4 %) and 55,100 were local passengers (-88.5 %).
Of local passengers, 60.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 39.1 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 82.9 %.
In addition, there were 51,800 passengers departing the airport (-88.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 119,000 (-90.7 %).

There were 84,900 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port decreased 81 percent. The number of departing passengers was 116,000 (-75.0 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (82,300 arrivals).

Total accommodation sales in January were 8.6 million euro (-29.0 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 17.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 7.1 million euro (-27.1 million) and non-registered sales 1.5 million euro (-2.2 million).
