Registered bed nights increased 240 percent (May)
In May 2021, 214,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (+240.9 %), of which 171,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 42,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 220 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 370 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 240 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (6,000 nights).
87,100 nights (+373.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 126,000 nights (+185.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 503,000 registered bed nights (-37.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 123,000 (-74.9 %) for foreigners in Uusimaa, in total 626,000 (-51.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

96,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (May)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 360 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.2 percent were domestic, and 10.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 2.0 nights (-0.87) and foreigners 4.1 nights (+0.07).
99,100 air travelers (Helsinki)
The airport received a total of 99,100 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 124 percent. 18,600 travelers were transferring planes (+146.4 %) and 80,400 were local passengers (+118.9 %).
Of local passengers, 79.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 20.8 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 89.9 %.
In addition, there were 82,900 passengers departing the airport (+179.4 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 182,000 (+146.0 %).

There were 89,900 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased 80 percent. The number of departing passengers was 88,800 (+62.4 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (86,400 arrivals).
