Registered bed nights increased 148 percent (November)

In November 2021, 440,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (+148.4 %), of which 305,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 135,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 106 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 370 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 148 percent from last year's November.

209,000 nights (+145.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 232,000 nights (+150.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 2.6 million registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 727,000 (+1.8 %) for foreigners in Uusimaa, in total 3.3 million (+21.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 31.6 percent (November)

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+52.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 279,000 nights (+221.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uusimaa out of total registered bed nights was 31.6 % (+9.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 27.4 % and foreign bed nights 48.4 %.

252,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (November)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 166 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.6 percent were domestic, and 24.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.6 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.3).

409,000 air travelers (Helsinki)

The airport received a total of 409,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 470 percent. 143,000 travelers were transferring planes (+1,110.6 %) and 266,000 were local passengers (+346.9 %).

Of local passengers, 80.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 19.1 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 76.8 %.

In addition, there were 279,000 passengers departing the airport (+342.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 688,000 (+412.0 %).

209,000 passengers by ferries (November, Helsinki)

There were 209,000 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased 86 percent. The number of departing passengers was 205,000 (+93.5 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (160,000 arrivals).
