Total of 185,000 bed nights (-69.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Uusimaa in January 2021. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 73 % and non-registered 27 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.

In January 2021, 135,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uusimaa (-72.4 %), of which 111,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 59 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 89 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 72 percent from last year's January.
66,100 nights (-72.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 69,400 nights (-72.8 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay increased 17 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Uusimaa, length of stay in January was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (+12.1 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.9 nights and foreigners 2.3 nights .
70,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.1 percent were domestic, and 14.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uusimaa on average 1.9 nights (+0.33) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.48).

The airport received a total of 79,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 93 percent. 11,900 travelers were transferring planes (-96.4 %) and 67,700 were local passengers (-91.7 %).
Of local passengers, 64.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 35.4 %. For transferring passengers, the share of travelers arriving from abroad was 82.9 %.
In addition, there were 51,800 passengers departing the airport (-88.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 131,000 (-91.8 %).

There were 97,700 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port decreased 73 percent. The number of departing passengers was 68,100 (-80.3 %). Most arrivals were from Estonia (95,800 arrivals).

Accommodation sales 8.7 million euro
Total accommodation sales in January were 8.7 million euro (-29.4 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 18.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 7.1 million euro (-27.1 million) and non-registered sales 1.6 million euro (-2.3 million).
