21,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 21,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa Region (-41.8 %), of which 20,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 770 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 42 percent from last year's June.

16,900 nights (-33.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,100 nights (-61.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 69,000 registered bed nights (-39.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,100 (-62.4 %) for foreigners in Vaasa Region, in total 79,200 (-43.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaasa Region out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

14,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.2 percent were domestic, and 1.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+1.2).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 766,000 euro (-936,000).

Registered January-June sales were 4.6 million euro and they decreased 3.9 million euro from the previous year.
