Registered bed nights increased 14 percent
In February 2020, 21,100 bed nights were recorded in Vaasa Region (+14.1 %), of which 17,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (970 nights).
9,500 nights (+31.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,600 nights (+3.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 31,700 bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,200 (+11.8 %) for foreigners in Vaasa Region, in total 38,900 (+5.0 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

13,200 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 85.3 percent were domestic, and 14.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.5 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.19).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 1.4 million euro (+118,000).
Registered January-February sales were 2.6 million euro and they increased 116,000 euro from the previous year.
