Registered bed nights increased 260 percent

In April 2021, 10,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa Region (+254.6 %), of which 9,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 550 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 250 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 450 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 260 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (123 nights).

4,700 nights (+359.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,400 nights (+195.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 33,500 registered bed nights (-22.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,200 (-76.1 %) for foreigners in Vaasa Region, in total 35,700 (-31.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaasa Region out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

4,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 250 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 2.0 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+0.37).
