35,400 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 35,400 bed nights (-8.4 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Vaasa Region in June 2018. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 91 % and non-registered 9.2 %.
Between January and June, the number of paid bed nights was 155,000 (+2.5 %). Share of registered was 89 % and non-registered 11 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
32,100 registered bed nights
In June 2018, 32,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa Region (-10.3 %), of which 24,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's June.
20,600 nights (+3.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,600 nights (-27.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 108,000 registered bed nights (-2.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,900 (-4.6 %) for foreigners in Vaasa Region, in total 138,000 (-2.7 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Vaasa Region, length of stay in June was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.0 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.6 nights (+1.2 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-4.4 %).
19,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.3 percent were domestic, and 19.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.6 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.02).

Accommodation sales 1.8 million euro
Total accommodation sales in June were 1.8 million euro (-291,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 3.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.7 million euro (-295,000) and non-registered sales 69,400 euro (+3,700).
Total January-June sales were 9.1 million euro and they decreased 183,000 euro from the previous year.
