14,200 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 14,200 bed nights (+41.3 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Vaasa Region in January 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 78 % and non-registered 22 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 38 percent
In January 2022, 11,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa Region (+38.3 %), of which 10,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 82 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 38 percent from last year's January.
3,500 nights (+3.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,600 nights (+63.5 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Vaasa Region, length of stay in January was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.4 nights (+10.2 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.6 nights and foreigners 2.1 nights .
6,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.0 percent were domestic, and 8.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa Region on average 1.6 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.87).

Accommodation sales 721,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in January were 721,000 euro (+220,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 10.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 646,000 euro (+186,000) and non-registered sales 75,000 euro (+34,300).
