Registered bed nights increased 12 percent
In February 2020, 17,900 bed nights were recorded in Vaasa (+12.0 %), of which 14,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and foreign bed nights increased 10 percent. In total, bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (790 nights).
7,400 nights (+24.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,500 nights (+4.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 26,900 bed nights (+7.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,100 (+0.3 %) for foreigners in Vaasa, in total 33,000 (+5.9 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

11,700 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 84.9 percent were domestic, and 15.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa on average 1.5 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.06).
10,600 air travelers
The airport received a total of 10,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased six percent.
Of local passengers, 43.3 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 56.7 %.
In addition, there were 10,700 passengers departing the airport (-0.9 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 21,300 (+2.5 %).

There were 6,300 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased 25 percent. The number of departing passengers was 6,500 (+8.4 %). Most arrivals were from Sweden (6,300 arrivals).
