14,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 14,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa (-48.8 %), of which 13,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 95 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 49 percent from last year's June.

11,500 nights (-35.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,500 nights (-73.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 50,600 registered bed nights (-42.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,000 (-67.5 %) for foreigners in Vaasa, in total 58,700 (-47.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.2 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaasa out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

10,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.3 percent were domestic, and 1.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa on average 1.3 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.17).

1,900 passengers by ferries

There were 1,900 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port decreased 86 percent. The number of departing passengers was 1,600 (-88.7 %).
