10,800 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 10,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa (-40.5 %), of which 10,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 610 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 87 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 40 percent from last year's September.

5,900 nights (-7.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,900 nights (-58.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 132,000 registered bed nights (-17.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,700 (-76.9 %) for foreigners in Vaasa, in total 144,000 (-31.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (-32.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-12.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 92,200 nights (-82.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaasa out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

7,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 39 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa on average 1.4 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.28).

410 air travelers

The airport received a total of 410 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 97 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 99.8 %.

In addition, there were 420 passengers departing the airport (-97.2 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 830 (-97.2 %).
