Registered bed nights increased 99 percent

In September 2021, 21,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa (+98.7 %), of which 19,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 87 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 300 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 99 percent from last year's September.

10,300 nights (+74.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,100 nights (+128.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 175,000 registered bed nights (+32.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,400 (-2.2 %) for foreigners in Vaasa, in total 186,000 (+29.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+21.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 204,000 nights (+121.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaasa out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

12,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.6 percent were domestic, and 9.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa on average 1.7 nights (+0.32) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.01).
