Total of 15,700 bed nights (+70.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Vaasa in February 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 75 % and non-registered 25 %.
Between January and February, the number of paid bed nights was 28,000 (+59.7 %). Share of registered was 76 % and non-registered 24 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 62 percent
In February 2022, 11,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaasa (+61.6 %), of which 10,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 62 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (220 nights).
5,000 nights (+127.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,800 nights (+33.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 18,700 registered bed nights (+44.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,400 (+195.6 %) for foreigners in Vaasa, in total 21,100 (+53.0 %) registered nights.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaasa on average 1.6 nights (-5.2 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-28.8 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.5 percent were domestic, and 8.5 percent were from foreign countries.

Accommodation sales 788,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in February were 788,000 euro (+314,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 9.5 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 714,000 euro (+276,000) and non-registered sales 74,600 euro (+38,100).
Total January-February sales were 1.4 million euro and they increased 513,000 euro from the previous year.
