Registered bed nights increased 33 percent

In May 2022, 13,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Vadstena (+33.2 %), of which 13,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 400 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 33 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (122 nights).

3,100 rooms (+59.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (+403.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 25,000 registered bed nights (+53.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 910 (+217.4 %) for foreigners in Vadstena, in total 25,900 (+56.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vadstena out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

8,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 56 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vadstena on average 1.7 nights (-0.28) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.18).
