Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In December 2018, 2,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Vadstena (+9.2 %), of which 2,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 290 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (31 nights).

1,400 rooms (+16.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 320 rooms (+1.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 105,000 registered bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,900 (+0.3 %) for foreigners in Vadstena, in total 117,000 (+2.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vadstena out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Vadstena, length of stay in December was on average 1.3 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vadstena on average 1.4 nights (-4.4 %) and foreigners 1.1 nights (-32.0 %).

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.1 percent were domestic, and 12.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vadstena on average 1.4 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 1.1 nights (-3.7).
