Registered bed nights increased 25 percent

In February 2022, 43,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Valdres (+25.1 %), of which 32,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 12,000 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's February.

20,600 nights (+70.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (+104.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 53,700 registered bed nights (+8.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,200 (+5,831.0 %) for foreigners in Valdres, in total 67,900 (+36.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.4 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+92.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+56.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 466,000 nights (+432.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Valdres out of total registered bed nights was 2.4 % (-1.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 2.4 %.

10,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 39 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.3 percent were domestic, and 22.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Valdres on average 4.1 nights (-0.68) and foreigners 5.0 nights (+2.2).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 10.0 million crowns (+4.7 million).

Registered January-February sales were 15.8 million crowns and they increased 8.1 million euro from the previous year.
