Paid bed nights

10,200 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 10,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Vänersborg (-0.7 %), of which 8,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 19 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (480 nights).

2,300 rooms (+29.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,600 rooms (-7.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 22,100 registered bed nights (-1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,800 (-3.3 %) for foreigners in Vänersborg, in total 24,900 (-1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vänersborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Vänersborg, length of stay in March was on average 2.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 2.9 nights (-19.0 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+96.5 %).

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.4 percent were domestic, and 12.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 2.9 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+1.7).
