Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In March 2019, 9,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Vänersborg (+7.8 %), of which 8,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 182 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (360 nights).

2,000 rooms (-20.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (+10.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 20,600 registered bed nights (+22.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,100 (+167.3 %) for foreigners in Vänersborg, in total 23,700 (+31.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vänersborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Vänersborg, length of stay in March was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 2.8 nights (+24.1 %) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-25.7 %).

3,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.7 percent were domestic, and 26.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 2.8 nights (+0.59) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-0.78).
