Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 62 percent

In June 2019, 26,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Vänersborg (+61.5 %), of which 22,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 63 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 53 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 62 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,500 nights).

3,100 rooms (+19.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (-9.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 66,800 registered bed nights (+41.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,300 (+77.6 %) for foreigners in Vänersborg, in total 78,000 (+46.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vänersborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 41 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. In Vänersborg, length of stay in June was on average 4.9 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 6.2 nights (+41.1 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-19.9 %).

5,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 65.2 percent were domestic, and 34.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 6.2 nights (+2.5) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.4).
