Registered bed nights increased 29 percent

In August 2021, 28,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Vänersborg (+29.1 %), of which 25,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,200 nights).

3,300 rooms (+62.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (+50.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 120,000 registered bed nights (+15.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,000 (+59.3 %) for foreigners in Vänersborg, in total 128,000 (+17.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vänersborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 5.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Vänersborg, length of stay in August was on average 5.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 5.2 nights (+5.9 %) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+67.4 %).

5,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 81 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.2 percent were domestic, and 12.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vänersborg on average 5.2 nights (-2.1) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+0.03).
