12,600 registered bed nights (May)

In May 2020, 12,600 bed nights were recorded in Vantaa (-87.9 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 83 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 96 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 88 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (310 nights).

2,100 nights (-95.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 10,500 nights (-82.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 172,000 bed nights (-44.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 75,300 (-50.8 %) for foreigners in Vantaa, in total 247,000 (-46.7 %) nights.

Total of 305,000 bed nights (-80.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 285,000 nights (-74.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 20,000 nights (-95.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vantaa out of total bed nights was 4.1 % (-2.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.9 % and foreign bed nights 7.9 %.

4,000 tourists arrived to accommodation (May)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 95 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 80.6 percent were domestic, and 19.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 3.5 nights (+2.1) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.78).
