Registered bed nights increased 148 percent

In April 2021, 31,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Vantaa (+148.1 %), of which 21,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 87 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 790 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 148 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (1,300 nights).

6,200 nights (+123.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 25,400 nights (+155.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 79,500 registered bed nights (-52.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,800 (-60.6 %) for foreigners in Vantaa, in total 108,000 (-54.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.1 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vantaa out of total registered bed nights was 4.1 % (-2.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 18.7 %.

9,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 115 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 70.0 percent were domestic, and 30.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 3.3 nights (+0.33) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.99).
