Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In September 2019, 112,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vantaa (+14.6 %), of which 67,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 44,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from China (12,900 nights).

55,600 nights (+32.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 56,400 nights (+1.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 601,000 registered bed nights (+16.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 341,000 (+4.6 %) for foreigners in Vantaa, in total 942,000 (+11.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.1 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+3.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 516,000 nights (+11.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vantaa out of total registered bed nights was 6.1 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.2 % and foreign bed nights 8.6 %.

78,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 58.2 percent were domestic, and 41.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 1.5 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 1.3 nights (+0.05).

Registered accommodation sales in September were 8.9 million euro (+2.0 million).

Registered January-September sales were 62.4 million euro and they increased 7.9 million euro from the previous year.
