Registered bed nights increased four percent
In December 2019, 88,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Vantaa (+4.3 %), of which 57,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 31,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's December.
51,400 nights (+25.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 37,100 nights (-15.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 805,000 registered bed nights (+14.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 438,000 (+5.8 %) for foreigners in Vantaa, in total 1.2 million (+11.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Vantaa, length of stay in December was on average 1.4 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 1.5 nights (+0.7 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-2.1 %).
62,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 62.5 percent were domestic, and 37.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 1.5 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.4 nights (+0.02).
