45,500 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 45,500 bed nights were recorded in Vantaa (-51.4 %), of which 30,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 48 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's March.

17,800 nights (-62.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 27,700 nights (-40.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 155,000 bed nights (-15.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,900 (-17.4 %) for foreigners in Vantaa, in total 227,000 (-15.7 %) nights.

Market share 4.6 percent

Total of 996,000 bed nights (-46.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 730,000 nights (-43.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 265,000 nights (-53.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vantaa out of total bed nights was 4.6 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.2 % and foreign bed nights 5.5 %.

27,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 57 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 64.0 percent were domestic, and 36.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vantaa on average 1.8 nights (+0.21) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+0.15).

Registered accommodation sales in March were 3.2 million euro (-3.6 million).

Registered January-March sales were 15.4 million euro and they decreased 3.4 million euro from the previous year.
