Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 60 percent

In February 2023, 1,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Vara (+60.2 %), of which 1,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 191 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 290 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 60 percent from last year's February.

580 rooms (+52.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 710 rooms (+98.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 3,200 registered bed nights (+87.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 370 (+401.4 %) for foreigners in Vara, in total 3,600 (+99.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+20.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 756,000 nights (+32.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vara out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Vara, length of stay in February was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-5.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vara on average 1.6 nights (-9.0 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+57.4 %).

1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 65 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vara on average 1.6 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.64).
