Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In March 2021, 1,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Vara (+11.4 %), of which 1,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 176 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 167 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Italy (84 nights).

440 rooms (+34.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 470 rooms (-12.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 2,700 registered bed nights (-31.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 450 (+89.1 %) for foreigners in Vara, in total 3,200 (-24.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vara out of total registered bed nights was 0.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Vara, length of stay in March was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vara on average 1.7 nights (+3.8 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+86.3 %).

680 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vara on average 1.7 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+2.0).
