Registered bed nights increased 83 percent

In December 2021, 25,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+83.4 %), of which 23,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 76 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 83 percent from last year's December.

6,800 rooms (+81.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,600 rooms (+124.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 827,000 registered bed nights (+11.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,600 (+73.6 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 865,000 (+13.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

17,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 116 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.6 percent were domestic, and 6.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.4 nights (-0.26) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.71).
