Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In May 2022, 87,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+6.9 %), of which 82,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 260 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's May.

9,900 rooms (+38.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,400 rooms (+45.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 194,000 registered bed nights (+13.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,200 (+216.4 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 208,000 (+18.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.6 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (-0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

43,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.7 percent were domestic, and 5.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 2.0 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.34).
