Paid bed nights

24,000 registered bed nights

In February 2023, 24,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (-7.3 %), of which 21,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's February.

6,400 rooms (-8.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,400 rooms (+29.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 42,500 registered bed nights (-9.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,600 (+21.4 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 47,000 (-7.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+20.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 756,000 nights (+32.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Varberg, length of stay in February was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-5.0 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.6 nights (-9.2 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-11.8 %).

14,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.6 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.26).
