Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In September 2021, 41,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+9.2 %), of which 38,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 87 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's September.

9,200 rooms (+22.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,800 rooms (+18.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 731,000 registered bed nights (+7.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,800 (+53.0 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 759,000 (+9.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

26,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.6 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.03).
