107,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 107,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (-10.5 %), of which 105,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 77 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (680 nights).

7,300 rooms (-8.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,400 rooms (-14.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 251,000 registered bed nights (-13.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,200 (-48.9 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 261,000 (-15.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.9 percent

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 2.9 % (+1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

43,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.6 percent were domestic, and 2.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 2.5 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.09).
