Registered bed nights increased 83 percent

In April 2021, 34,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+83.4 %), of which 32,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 85 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 83 percent from last year's April.

5,800 rooms (+141.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,300 rooms (+39.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 91,500 registered bed nights (+21.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,200 (-52.3 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 94,700 (+15.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

19,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 98 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.0 percent were domestic, and 3.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.8 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.62).
