Registered bed nights increased one percent
In December 2019, 19,000 bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+0.5 %), of which 17,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased two percent and foreign bed nights decreased 19 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (380 nights).
4,600 rooms (+7.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (+0.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 801,000 bed nights (+6.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 63,200 (-2.2 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 865,000 (+6.2 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 1.4 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.13).
