Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In June 2019, 119,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Varberg (+8.3 %), of which 112,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,300 nights).

7,100 rooms (+42.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,700 rooms (+9.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 290,000 registered bed nights (+6.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,000 (+1.5 %) for foreigners in Varberg, in total 310,000 (+6.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.7 percent

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Varberg out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Varberg, length of stay in June was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 2.4 nights (+2.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.3 %).

50,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.6 percent were domestic, and 8.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Varberg on average 2.4 nights (+0.24) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.03).
