Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 28 percent

In October 2019, 13,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmdö (+28.4 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 30 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (117 nights).

2,200 rooms (+44.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,300 rooms (+12.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 160,000 registered bed nights (+5.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,900 (+15.7 %) for foreigners in Värmdö, in total 173,000 (+6.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmdö out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay increased 11 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Värmdö, length of stay in October was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmdö on average 1.5 nights (+8.1 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-2.5 %).

8,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.9 percent were domestic, and 2.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmdö on average 1.5 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.9).
