Registered bed nights increased 86 percent

In May 2022, 153,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+86.0 %), of which 104,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 48,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 47 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 340 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 86 percent from last year's May.

20,200 rooms (+109.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 35,200 rooms (+130.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 382,000 registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 109,000 (+257.6 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 491,000 (-16.8 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 36 percent (Degerfors)

In May 2022, 2,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors (+36.2 %), of which 2,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 134 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 36 percent from last year's May.

113 rooms (+145.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 370 rooms (+59.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 3,800 registered bed nights (+11.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 260 (-57.5 %) for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 4,000 (+0.8 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 55 percent (Karlskoga)

In May 2022, 7,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (+54.9 %), of which 6,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 40 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 330 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 55 percent from last year's May.

1,500 rooms (+254.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (+23.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 21,300 registered bed nights (+65.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,100 (+185.2 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 24,400 (+75.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.8 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 4.9 %.

81,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 135 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.3 percent were domestic, and 28.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 1.8 nights (-0.4) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-3.2).
