Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 29 percent

In December 2017, 128,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+29.5 %), of which 105,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 23,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's December.

15,000 rooms (-6.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,500 rooms (+12.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 1.5 million registered bed nights (+8.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 781,000 (+1.3 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 2.3 million (+5.7 %) registered nights.

330 registered bed nights (Degerfors)

In December 2017, 330 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors, of which 220 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 114 nights by foreigners.

0.0 rooms were booked by leisure visitors and 45 rooms by business visitors.

Between January and December, 13,300 registered bed nights were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,900 for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 22,200 registered nights.

1,900 registered bed nights (Karlskoga)

In December 2017, 1,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (-14.0 %), of which 1,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 14 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 14 percent from last year's December.

570 rooms (+51.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 700 rooms (-34.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 48,600 registered bed nights (+6.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,800 (-1.3 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 63,500 (+4.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+5.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (+5.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 763,000 nights (+6.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.8 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.0 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

Length of stay increased 24 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 24 percent compared to earlier year. In Värmland County, length of stay in December was on average 3.0 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+1.0 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 3.1 nights (+6.1 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-1.8 %).

42,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.3 percent were domestic, and 19.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 3.1 nights (+0.61) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+0.44).
