Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 49 percent

In March 2018, 234,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+49.1 %), of which 196,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 44 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 49 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (19,700 nights).

17,700 rooms (-0.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,500 rooms (-3.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 565,000 registered bed nights (+35.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 108,000 (+41.4 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 673,000 (+36.5 %) registered nights.

320 registered bed nights (Degerfors)

In March 2018, 320 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors (-25.2 %), of which 280 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 44 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 25 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (35 nights).

4.0 rooms (-63.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 40 rooms (-42.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 1,000 registered bed nights (-3.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 173 (-42.9 %) for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 1,200 (-12.1 %) registered nights.

2,400 registered bed nights (Karlskoga)

In March 2018, 2,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (-30.3 %), of which 1,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 590 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 36 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 30 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (84 nights).

690 rooms (-9.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 880 rooms (-28.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 6,200 registered bed nights (-20.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,500 (+6.0 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 7,700 (-16.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 5.0 % (+1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.3 % and foreign bed nights 3.7 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 35 percent compared to earlier year. In Värmland County, length of stay in March was on average 3.9 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 4.2 nights (+29.8 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+31.9 %).

60,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.2 percent were domestic, and 21.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 4.2 nights (+1.1) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+0.82).
