Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In February 2019, 266,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+12.5 %), of which 222,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 44,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (13,300 nights).

20,600 rooms (+17.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,400 rooms (-3.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 390,000 registered bed nights (+5.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 73,600 (+3.7 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 464,000 (+5.5 %) registered nights.

350 registered bed nights (Degerfors)

In February 2019, 350 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors (-38.4 %), of which 310 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 45 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 38 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (13 nights).

39 rooms were booked by leisure visitors and 165 rooms (+200.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 550 registered bed nights (-24.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 55 (-57.4 %) for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 610 (-29.2 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased nine percent (Karlskoga)

In February 2019, 3,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (+9.1 %), of which 2,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (67 nights).

620 rooms (+11.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+18.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 5,700 registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 900 (-2.1 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 6,600 (+23.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+3.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 954,000 nights (+0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 6.2 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.7 % and foreign bed nights 4.6 %.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Värmland County, length of stay in February was on average 5.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-1.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 5.7 nights (+12.8 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-7.1 %).

52,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.0 percent were domestic, and 26.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 5.7 nights (+0.79) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-0.25).
