Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In April 2019, 127,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+5.3 %), of which 89,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 37,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (21,400 nights).

17,300 rooms (+19.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,900 rooms (+1.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 664,000 registered bed nights (+1.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 141,000 (+1.4 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 806,000 (+1.5 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 130 percent (Degerfors)

In April 2019, 810 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors (+130.3 %), of which 440 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 36 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 130 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Romania (360 nights).

79 rooms were booked by leisure visitors and 500 rooms (+741.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 1,500 registered bed nights (+8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 790 (+289.1 %) for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 2,200 (+45.7 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased six percent (Karlskoga)

In April 2019, 4,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (+6.5 %), of which 3,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (109 nights).

690 rooms (-5.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (-2.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 12,400 registered bed nights (+31.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,800 (-10.3 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 14,200 (+23.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+4.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 953,000 nights (+8.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 3.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 3.9 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Värmland County, length of stay in April was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+1.4 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 2.3 nights (+7.8 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-3.4 %).

53,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 72.0 percent were domestic, and 28.0 percent were from foreign countries.
