Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 43 percent

In April 2022, 98,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Värmland County (+43.5 %), of which 73,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 460 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 43 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (17,900 nights).

16,700 rooms (+89.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 27,400 rooms (+69.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 278,000 registered bed nights (-43.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 61,000 (+210.7 %) for foreigners in Värmland County, in total 339,000 (-33.4 %) registered nights.

920 registered bed nights (Degerfors)

In April 2022, 920 registered bed nights were recorded in Degerfors (-11.0 %), of which 840 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 80 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 67 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (58 nights).

152 rooms (+253.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 250 rooms (-35.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 1,800 registered bed nights (-8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 128 (-74.2 %) for foreigners in Degerfors, in total 1,900 (-22.3 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights increased 89 percent (Karlskoga)

In April 2022, 5,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Karlskoga (+88.8 %), of which 4,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 530 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 88 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 89 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Finland (86 nights).

920 rooms (+312.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (+42.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 14,900 registered bed nights (+80.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,000 (+141.0 %) for foreigners in Karlskoga, in total 16,800 (+85.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värmland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.3 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 34 percent compared to earlier year. In Värmland County, length of stay in April was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 1.7 nights (-63.6 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-53.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 118 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.3 percent were domestic, and 19.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värmland County on average 1.7 nights (-1.0) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-2.2).
