Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In December 2019, 3,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Värnamo (+10.1 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 620 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's December.

1,200 rooms (+93.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (-9.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 67,400 registered bed nights (+28.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,500 (+15.6 %) for foreigners in Värnamo, in total 87,000 (+25.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Värnamo out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Värnamo, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-2.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värnamo on average 1.5 nights (-5.2 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+22.0 %).

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.8 percent were domestic, and 14.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Värnamo on average 1.5 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.04).
