In November 2019, 46,800 bed nights were recorded in Västerås (-1.9 %), of which 41,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased three percent and foreign bed nights increased 11 percent. In total, bed nights decreased two percent from last year's November.

11,800 rooms (+16.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,600 rooms (-5.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 490,000 bed nights (+9.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 58,400 (-8.0 %) for foreigners in Västerås, in total 549,000 (+7.0 %) nights.

Total of 3.6 million bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 731,000 nights (-6.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västerås out of total bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

27,800 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 89.7 percent were domestic, and 10.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västerås on average 1.7 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.33).
