Registered bed nights increased 13 percent
In February 2020, 45,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Västerås (+13.3 %), of which 41,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (930 nights).
13,600 rooms (+19.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,200 rooms (+15.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 80,500 registered bed nights (+13.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,100 (-9.3 %) for foreigners in Västerås, in total 87,700 (+11.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.
