Västerbotten County: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 64 percent
In May 2022, 150,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Västerbotten County (+64.4 %), of which 122,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 28,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 152 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 64 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (8,000 nights).
27,800 rooms were booked by leisure visitors and 52,200 rooms by business visitors.
Between January and May, 518,000 registered bed nights (+38.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 129,000 (+231.3 %) for foreigners in Västerbotten County, in total 647,000 (+56.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.
