Västernorrland County: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 48 percent
In May 2022, 113,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Västernorrland County (+47.6 %), of which 99,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 39 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 160 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's May.
24,200 rooms (+81.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 42,600 rooms (+72.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 348,000 registered bed nights (+47.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 44,500 (+172.7 %) for foreigners in Västernorrland County, in total 392,000 (+55.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västernorrland County on average 1.7 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.62).
