Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 32 percent

In June 2022, 148,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Västernorrland County (+32.0 %), of which 121,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 26,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 195 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 32 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (8,000 nights).

28,300 rooms (+33.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 33,500 rooms (+43.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 469,000 registered bed nights (+38.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,000 (+180.6 %) for foreigners in Västernorrland County, in total 540,000 (+48.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.9 million registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.2 million nights (+17.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+259.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västernorrland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Västernorrland County, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-13.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västernorrland County on average 1.7 nights (-9.0 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-16.1 %).

84,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 45 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.5 percent were domestic, and 17.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västernorrland County on average 1.7 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.1).
