Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In May 2022, 35,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (+14.0 %), of which 32,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's May.

4,400 rooms (+19.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,300 rooms (+76.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 80,100 registered bed nights (+20.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,500 (+76.9 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 84,600 (+22.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

16,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 27 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.2 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.61).
