13,100 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 13,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (-0.6 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 620 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 39 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (136 nights).

3,000 rooms (+64.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,900 rooms (+8.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 35,300 registered bed nights (+14.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,600 (+34.3 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 36,900 (+15.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 38 percent compared to earlier year. In Västervik, length of stay in March was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.1 nights (-24.2 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-49.0 %).

6,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 60 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.
