40,900 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 40,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (-29.4 %), of which 39,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 29 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (710 nights).

3,900 rooms (-38.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,000 rooms (-12.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 90,600 registered bed nights (-21.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,300 (-68.1 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 94,900 (-25.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

16,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 35 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.7 percent were domestic, and 2.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.5 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.52).
