Registered bed nights increased 98 percent

In April 2021, 13,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (+97.7 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 97 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 130 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 98 percent from last year's April.

2,700 rooms (+119.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (+101.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 36,400 registered bed nights (+14.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,800 (-38.4 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 38,100 (+10.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

5,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 60 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.0 percent were domestic, and 2.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.5 nights (+0.5) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-0.77).
