Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In October 2019, 12,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (+9.2 %), of which 10,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 168 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's October.

1,900 rooms (-22.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,100 rooms (+69.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 311,000 registered bed nights (+4.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 72,100 (+15.4 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 383,000 (+6.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Västervik, length of stay in October was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).
