6,700 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 6,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (-46.1 %), of which 6,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 157 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 43 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 82 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 46 percent from last year's April.

1,100 rooms (-26.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 970 rooms (-66.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 31,600 registered bed nights (-18.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,900 (+20.9 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 34,500 (-16.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Västervik, length of stay in April was on average 3.2 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 3.1 nights (-12.1 %) and foreigners 8.3 nights (+159.4 %).

2,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 49 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.1 percent were domestic, and 0.9 percent were from foreign countries.
