Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In March 2021, 9,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (+8.7 %), of which 9,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 550 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's March.

1,600 rooms (+33.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (+8.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 23,500 registered bed nights (-6.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,400 (-48.1 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 24,900 (-10.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased 28 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 28 percent compared to earlier year. In Västervik, length of stay in March was on average 3.6 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 3.4 nights (+33.1 %) and foreigners 11 nights (-48.1 %).

2,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.
