Registered bed nights increased 30 percent

In April 2022, 17,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Västervik (+30.3 %), of which 16,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 660 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 84 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 30 percent from last year's April.

2,800 rooms (+37.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,800 rooms (+64.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 47,400 registered bed nights (+30.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,900 (+5.4 %) for foreigners in Västervik, in total 49,300 (+29.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västervik out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Västervik, length of stay in April was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.2 nights (-17.3 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-43.4 %).

7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 67 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västervik on average 2.2 nights (-0.6) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-1.3).
