88,200 registered bed nights

In June 2018, 88,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (-8.9 %), of which 76,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's June.

12,100 rooms (+32.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,300 rooms (+29.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 356,000 registered bed nights (+7.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 46,200 (+43.1 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 402,000 (+11.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (-5.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-10.7 %).

48,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.27).
