Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In July 2019, 136,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (+1.5 %), of which 118,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's July.

22,300 rooms (+29.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 15,500 rooms (+10.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 503,000 registered bed nights (+6.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 57,900 (-10.9 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 561,000 (+4.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 13.5 million registered bed nights (+5.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 9.3 million nights (+4.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 4.2 million nights (+5.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in July was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+0.3 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.1 nights (+8.6 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-6.4 %).

63,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.1 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.11).
