68,200 registered bed nights

In October 2019, 68,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (-2.6 %), of which 60,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 28 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (1,100 nights).

16,200 rooms (+22.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 28,200 rooms (-0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 719,000 registered bed nights (+5.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 86,500 (-11.4 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 806,000 (+3.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in October was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (+8.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-1.5 %).

38,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.9 percent were domestic, and 9.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.47).
